Great hotel but park on the esplanade as it’s close by and free.
Pros: Great location, large comfortable and quiet room. Pleasant staff and a lovely breakfast in a cosy dining room. Lovely effort with the Halloween decorations!
Cons: Parking was a bit of a nightmare. If they just made it clear in advance where to park it would have saved us an hour. It’s a chaotic place to drive and you’re better off parking by the Palermo Esplanade as it’s free and on a main road, and a short walk. Don’t park in the old part of town as 1. You’re not allowed in without a permit (except weekends I think) and 2. It’s very narrow, 3. You’ll get towed as its residents only, 4. Don’t park in the square as they have a market there. Just park along the esplanade. The rest was fine but I wish I’d known this in advance.

Perfetto
Pros: We think this is in the perfect location. It is within easy walking distance of many attractions and museums, in the lovely streets of La Kalsa, with the Piazza Marina and Giardino Garibaldi offering a peaceful haven. We stayed for a week and booked the 4-person room so that we had space and could cook (which we did twice). There is a supermarket around the corner, or Ballero market nearby. The room was clean, the beds were comfortable, the water pressure in the shower was great, and we enjoyed sitting on the balcony in the early evenings. Martina picked us up from the airport and she and her family were lovely and made us feel very much at home. Breakfasts were good, the roof terrace is a bonus, and bag storage for our late flight was much appreciated. We are two older women travelling together, we would definitely stay here again.
Cons: Although the street itself is pretty quiet, bars and restaurants in surrounding streets were buzzing and it got noisy on Friday or Saturday nights when people wandered home. Take ear plugs if this will bother you.

Pros: The room was very spacious and super clean. The owners were super friendly and also extremely friendly with our small dog. We particularly liked the terrace on the very top of the building - a quiet and sunny place to relax. The hotel is located in La Kalsa - close to cool bars and alternative, artistic shops. It is true that you can hear one or two drunk guys but that is a price we were willing to pay for staying in such an exciting neighbourhood. PS.: The bed / the matress was extremely comfortable! We slept very well.

Pros: Very comfortable large room, very friendly staff and good breakfasts. Added bonus was the owner being willing to drive me to the bus station for a small, reasonable fee.
Cons: Nothing.

A gem of a place
Pros: The staff were very friendly and helpful, very clear instructions given re accessing the place. We arrived by taxi from airport, the taxi dropped around 3 min walk away. Lovely location in old town. Lots of choice for bars and restaurants within 3 \
Cons: There is no lifts and there are stairs to navigate but staff helpful and carried bag up so wasnt a problem.

5 nights in Palermo and we fell in love with the city
Pros: It was the perfect location on a quiet street away from the crowds and noise, but a very short walk to all the restaurants, bars and shops. Martina and her father were so lovely and very helpful. The father's english is pretty nonexistent (but then so is our Italian!), but once I used Google translate, so did he. He tried very hard with gestures etc to relay information. We made it work. Martina's English was great. The breakfast was pretty much the same each day, but the fruit, pasties and bread varied and it suited us well. We had a classic triple room with balcony which was great. The bathroom was really spacious and thought out well with shelves and hanging bars, with lots of hot water in the shower. We found the handheld to be the best for pressure as the shower head sprayed water out of the tub onto the tile floor. We had a great little balcony where we could sit outside which was wonderful in the evening with a glass of wine.
Cons: The air conditioner in our room did not work well and was very noisy. So noisy we had to turn it off to sleep. There was a slim vertical fan in the room which helped but it did not cool down the bedroom enough. Prior to booking I had read of a similar complaint but it was a year ago so I was hoping it had been fixed. The father said he would have a technician come and look at it but unfortunately it didn't happen before we left. We didn't sleep well in the heat which is the only reason for the less than perfect rating. We wouldn't hesitate to go back if the air conditioner worked. Thank you for a wonderful stay!
