B&B Porta Carolina

Pros: Great value, with good breakfast and excellent service from the staff. Close to the seafront and botanic gardens, less touristic area and not too far from Train and Bus stations. Loved the little plunge pool in the back court yard and communal areas good example of old palazzo in the most rustic way. Authentic experience.

Cons: we didnt have a balcony or outward facing window. New pillows would be good as not so comfortable.

Fabulous stay in a historic B&B located in an interesting area of Palermo. So much to explore!

Pros: We had a wonderful stay at B&B Porta Carolina. We loved the old building, with it's beautiful furniture and artwork. Our room was large and comfortable, with a small lounge area attached and a huge bathroom - much bigger than expected! Our host Raquel was amazing and couldn't have been more helpful and friendly. Good choice for breakfast and Raquel made coffee and freshly cooked eggs for the guests, and gave us lots of tips on things to do. There was also great home grown produce, jams and marmalades from the owners farm and we were delighted with the gift of mango jam that Raquel presented us with on our departure. We enjoyed being located in the quieter port area and the centre of Palermo was an easy walk away. We can't wait to get a chance to go back! Thank you Raquel :)

Excellent accomodation for a couple of nights stay

Pros: Location to the historic part of the city and to transport to the airport was very easy. Use of the residents kitchen was extremely handy. Breakfast was great for a short stay and Raquel, the host, was very helpful.

Cons: Not really anything that the hosts could do but we were eaten alive by mosquitos around the swimming pool which made it usable for us. All other aspects of our stay were great. The rooms are expensive but pricing is aligned with other accomodation in Palermo.

Charming stay in Palermo

Pros: Charming rooms in a lovely old building in a very interesting, not overly busy location, close to the botanical gardens, walking distance to the water and to the historical sites. Raquel was very kind and attentive. Great to have a cool pool to plunge into after a hot day.

Cons: Breakfast was a little lacklustre, and in a rather gloomy room but there is a great bakery close by. Not a big deal.

lovely little bed and breakfast in a great location

Pros: fantastic location (the botanical gardens was a great visit), good WhatsApp communication with racquel before and during our stay. breakfast was fine, but we ate out so late in the evenings that we didn't often need breakfast (and there were loads of bars locally to get some brunch when we felt like it!). we didn't use the pool (or the reading area), but it looked lovely.

Cons: everything was lovely

Would recommend and stay there again

Pros: Very old and quirky. The pool so unexpected and refreshing after a day of sightseeing in the sun. Raquel was delightful and full of interesting information we had a lovely stay.

Pros: Located in a beautiful old house. Service was fantastic, with a very friendly woman from Spain giving us plenty of tips about restaurants, cafes, best gelatto in town and interesting places to visit. There are nice common areas for guests. Breakfast was wonderful, including very nice homemade jam. They provided good gluten-free, lactose-free options, which is rarely the case.

Comfortable, historic b&b in interesting part of Palermo.

Pros: It was an old building in the historic port area. Down the street is the most fabulous bakery and gelato place. Everything is in walking distance. Great neighbourhood vibe. We were there for the feast of St Rosalea and the fireworks were fantastic.

Pros: It was our third time here and it never disappoints. If you want an authentic Sicilian experience then stay here. Our room was large , clean and spacious and was cleaned daily. The AC was 10 out of 10 ( in the heat it is important). Excellent swimming pool , perfect to swim after a walk in the heat of Palermo . The staff was friendly. The breakfast was solid , even had scrambled eggs cooked for me. In addition , there were home made jams from the family farm. A big thank you for the morning breakfast and a gift ( Marmelade ) , as we departed to the airport early .

A peaceful and relaxing stay with a wonderful host and a beautiful pool – we couldn’t have asked for more!

Pros: We had a great time at this place in Sicily! Tiziana was such a lovely and welcoming host – super friendly and always happy to help with tips or anything we needed. The apartment was clean, cozy, and well equipped. One of our highlights was the pool in the backyard – perfect for relaxing after a day of exploring. It’s a peaceful spot and a great base to discover the area. We’d definitely come back.
