Borgo Aranci - Villa Tulipano

Pros: Beautiful and quiet location among the hills, 5 km from the nearest beach and the see, in a gated complex with villas, beautiful communal pool (swimming caps required). Accommodation is sufficient for 4 people (2 bedrooms, each with a double bed). The upper apartment was sufficient for 6 people (3 bedrooms with double bed). The apartments are separate, with separate entrances, but the gardens are connected by a gate. The upper apartment had a terrace at the entrance and a terrace with a view, the lower apartment only had a terrace at the entrance. There are 2 parking spaces for each apartment and you can also park in front of the gate to the villa. Plenty of storage space, air conditioning in every room, hot water in the bathroom. There was a fridge, freezer, microwave, hairdryer, clothes dryer, ironing board and iron. Allessandro, the owner, arrived on time, was very kind, explained everything to us clearly, even the communication before arrival was excellent and operative.

Cons: There was a smell (possibly mould) after opening the kitchen unit :( It would be advisable to buy a new sofa. The leather was peeling off, so we didn't sit on it at all. The terrace is full of large ants, which also crawled into our apartment unless we closed the door. We were bothered by mosquitoes outside and inside and the windows have no screens. The shower area was very tight. We only received 1 roll of toilet paper and there was also very little dishwashing detergent. Toiletries were not provided - there was only a packet of tiny soap and one sachet of shampoo and body lotion. It was as if there was nothing. Beds too soft for us. The toilet had a broken toilet seat. The bedrooms were very nice and comfortable but the kitchen with sofa and bathroom could be made more comfortable. Every day a different type of rubbish is taken away (some types of rubbish even 2 times a week) which is amazing, on the other hand in the evening you have to place the appropriate bin up to the top of the whole area by the gate and replace it with another bin the following evening. Water is not drinkable in Sicily, so we had a large consumption of plastic bottles. When returning the apartment we had to explain why some waste was not taken out (e.g. organic or plastic) - because since the last collection we had again produced waste and there was no further collection date until the day of the apartment return.

A good place to stay.

Pros: Location and easy access to close beaches. Good house with airconditioning and good swimming pool.

Cons: There is no wifi in the property and also does not have a washing machine. These, specially the lack of wifi, makes the stay less comfortable.

Ottima location. Vacanza bellissima! 10
