Maruisa suite apartment

Pros: Good location. Stylishly decorated. Friendly and helpful host and an efficient check-in.

We enjoyed our apartment, the market just one block away & 15 min from 4 corners.

Pros: The apartment was spacious and newly renovated The terrace was large with good furniture. We enjoyed it a lot.

Cons: Unfortunately the apt is located in an area that didn’t feel comfortable walking at night. A little out of the way and the streets were unkept with refuse.

Pros: Hidden behind a huge wooden door, off a downtown narrow street, Maruisa is a perfectly and imaginatively restored apartment in an old Palace. The amazing bathroom and the arched ceilings hint at a former age, while the rest displays the best of minimalist modern style. The large terrace, with the distant hills rising above the jumble of city rooftops, is a lovely calm place to sit at the beginning and end of a day’s sightseeing. The location is in ‘real’ Palermo, not a tourist area, and very near the main attractions of the Duomo and the Norman Palace. Marco was very friendly and welcoming when he met us on arrival and quick to respond on WhatsApp to a couple of queries we had later. This is an exceptional place and if we return to Palermo we would definitely stay here again.

Cons: The area is downtown - very convenient for top attractions but be aware, the streets are quite dirty with piles of rubbish in places. Don’t be put off - this is typical of much of Palermo and it didn’t spoil our visit. Faded splendour and dereliction on the outside go hand in hand with magnificent interiors and fascinating history. There is great beauty if you look for it and we had a wonderful visit.

Pros: We liked everything about Maruisa Suite. The design of the apartment is stunning, and Marco is a very kind and flexible host. We felt so comfortable here, it's quiet in the night (which in Palermo is hard to find), the bed is super comfy and the roof terrace is amazing. We loved waking up to the sunrise in the bedroom, and then having the sun on the roof terrace for the rest of the day. The views over the roofs of Palermo, the churches and all the way to the mountains are so panoramic. The bathroom is the most beautiful I've ever seen. Perfection.

Pros: Tasteful, newly renovated property just around the corner from the Ballarò market. Fantastic terrace for breakfast or an evening drink and a stunning bathroom. Great location to explore Palermo from.

Pros: This is definitely one of the most beautiful apartments I’ve ever had the pleasure of renting. The location is great, every point of interest is within walking distance, and there is ample parking space within 200m. We had no issues communicating with the host who was very helpful and flexible with our needs. The apartment has the perfect blend of modern amenities with stunning old architecture.

Cons: I can’t think of anything negative about this apartment.

Great stay in the heart of Palermo with a very helpful host!

Pros: Excellent location to walkable sights. Very authentic in an old palazzo and renovated beautifully. Marco was very helpful with a great driver and local restaurant suggestions.

Cons: I wished there was a teapot to make tea in and a few more dishes. The shower was beautiful but we had difficulty using with out getting water everywhere.
